R. K. Convent School Educational Society having its teaching campus located in New Delhi is an authorized study centre of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism & Communication (MCNUJC). The University was previously known as Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism (MCNUJ). When translated in Hindi language, the new name of the University is read as “Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya” (MCRPS Vishwavidyalaya). The University is named after Pt. Makhanlal Chaturvedi, (1889-1968), an ace poet, writer and journalists of Madhya Pradesh who had acquired nation-wide renown not only for the excellence of literary creativity and might of his pen, but also for his undaunted participation in the national struggle for freedom of India. Pt. Makhanlal Ji was a true disciple of Lokmanya Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi, and was a rare combination of Tilak-like fiery patriotism and sacrifices and Gandhian non-violence, self abnegation and simplicity. |

M.C.R.P.S. University is a statutory university & the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, has issued an office memorandum (No. 9-4/92 CRP-1, date 27/11/1992) in that respect. The University is located in Bhopal, the capital of the Madhya Pradesh state. The University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, ACU, London and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In keeping view the University’s national character :-

It is not an Open University providing Distance Education or offering education through correspondence. The University is not a conventional university having limited territorial jurisdiction. It has jurisdiction through out the country. Consistent with the recent trend of globalization and internationalization of education, the University is imparting education outside the country also. The relationship between the University and its Study Institutes comes closest to, and can be best described as, that existing between a Conventional University and its Affiliated Colleges. That is why; |

The University prescribes norms for infrastructure, qualifications and number of faculty, eligibility for admission of students, norms of admission of students on merit, curriculum, number of teaching days (at least 90 days per Semester), minimum number of hours for Class Room-teaching, Laboratory and Practical Work per week, attendance required (75%) for students to be eligible to appear at the University examination and for other matters for which a Conventional University ordinarily prescribes norms for its affiliated colleges. |

There are over 500 study institutes affiliated to MCNUJC with over 10,000 students studying courses in the field of Mass Communication, Information Technology (IT), Journalism & Computer Science post at bachelors & masters degree level through this University. Curricula for Courses of the University are designed and regularly updated jointly by eminent academics and professionals which have to be strictly followed by all Study Institutes and their students. To promote holistic development of the personality of the students, to provide a platform to nurture and present artistic, literary and sports talents and to develop a feeling of fraternity and camaraderie amongst the students of the University, inter-Study Institutes, inter-Zonal and National level cultural and sports meets are organized.
Since the year 1997, R K C S Educational Society has marked its niche in IT education while it also offers under graduation & post graduation courses like BCA, B.Sc.(IT), M.Sc.(IT) & PGDCA in affiliation with the M.C.R.P.S. University. The students, after the successful completion of their degree or diploma, are also provided with 100% placement assistance. |
