LLB, or Bachelor of Laws, is a three years professional undergraduate education, after successful completion of which the candidate is awarded degree in laws. The degree allows the candidate to practice as an advocate or legal professional. The 3 years LLB program is designed and developed to build a solid foundation in law and impart and inculcate necessary critical, analytical and strategic thinking skills which are necessary in the field of law.
At R.K. College of Law, curriculum-wise, around half of the required subjects in the LL.B. programme are compulsory common law courses that are critical for legal practice. There are also skills courses in the Legal Skills Programme that foster creative thinking and independent learning. There is thus a good balance between compulsory and elective modules.
Besides the regular course curriculum, the students are taught and made proficient in communication skills, enabling them to articulate information which is a necessary feature of a lawyer in practice. They are made to create a strong foundation for themselves in economic principles and in legal issues, strengthening their ability to compete for desirable careers.
